Course Learning Objectives/Outcomes

By the end of the course, the Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist will be able to:
-Name the three factors in the "circles of vulnerability" model.
-Name eight barriers to suicide prevention.
-Name four key protective factors that contribute to resiliency in the face of historical trauma and other socio-ecological risk for alcohol abuse and suicide.
-Name nine suicide risk factors that have been shown to be the most significant for AI/AN populations.
-Name the top 5 protective factors against AI/AN suicide.
-Name 4 strategies for suicide prevention in Indian Country.
